Aaron Rodgers is no stranger to recruiting players for his club, and he's hoping to reunite with a former receiver.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets quarterback is attempting to lure Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, the Raiders do not want to move the three-time All-Pro receiver."The Las Vegas Raiders are in win-now mode, not in the business of giving away really good players,
Rapoport noted ahead of Super Bowl LVIII. "My understanding is that Aaron Rodgers has been attempting to recruit Davante Adams to the Jets — remember,
the Jets made a shot at him last year, but there was nothing there, so they are anticipated to try again this offseason.
"From what I'm told, the Raiders want to win, believe they can and have zero plans to trade Davante Adams," he went on to say.
From 2014 to 2021, Rodgers and Adams were teammates with the Green Bay Packers. Adams was one of the quarterback's go-to guys on the field, accumulating over 8,000 yards with Rodgers behind center.
Rodgers, 40, lured both Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard to the Jets, but adding a player of Adams' quality would undoubtedly elevate the Jets' offense.
