It will be Belichick's ninth season with the Patriots, having started his professional career as a scouting assistant in 2016 —
His first and only year in the front office. He joined the Patriots' coaching staff in 2017, mostly assisting with film breakdowns during the team's
Super Bowl LI-winning postseason run, before moving to a coaching assistant position the following season.
Belichick worked as a coaching assistant for the 2019 season before being elevated to Safeties Coach in 2020, a job previously held by his older brother Stephen.
During that time, he won his first Super Bowl title, when the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.
