Chip Kelly joins Ohio State as offensive coordinator from UCLA.

Chip Kelly left UCLA to become Ohio State's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Both shows announced their news Friday.

After four seasons as an NFL head coach, Kelly joined UCLA in 2018 and finished 35-34 overall and 26-26 in Pac-12 play.

Bill O'Brien is leaving Ohio State to coach Boston College. Kelly will replace him.

"Earlier this morning, coach Chip Kelly informed me of his decision to depart UCLA," said athletic director Martin Jarmond.

"I want to sincerely thank Chip for his service to UCLA football and our student-athletes across the past six seasons.

Kelly led the Bruins to eight victories and a bowl bid in 2021 after three years of 10-21. 

COVID-19-positive Bruins missed the Holiday Bowl versus North Carolina State. 

UCLA was No. 21 in the US LBM AFCA Coaches Poll after winning nine games in 2022, including the Sun Bowl.
