An official has confirmed that a Disney on Ice skater has been taken to the hospital and is currently in "serious condition" following a fall that occurred during a performance in Minnesota.
On Saturday, Anastasia Olson, who is 31 years old and plays the role of Princess Belle in the production of Beauty and the Beast
sustained an injury during the show that took place at Target Center in Minneapolis at eleven in the morning. She was brought to the hospital after the incident.
During the pair skating portion of the program, the skater who played the role of Belle tripped and sustained an injury while completing a lift portion of the dance.
In a statement that was provided to PEOPLE, a spokesman for Feld Entertainment, the parent company of Disney on Ice,
stated that the individual was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
It has been reported to PEOPLE by officials at the Hennepin County Medical Center that Olson is now in "serious condition" as of Monday afternoon.
According to the original plan, the performance went on as planned after the disaster.
A member of the audience by the name of Beka disclosed to KARE 11 that the medical issue occurred at an early stage in the performance.
The audience member remembers that this occurred approximately forty minutes into the performance.
