Netflix has released the official teaser for their upcoming film Scoop, which is based on Prince Andrew's controversial Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.
The upcoming drama depicts the inside account of how the Newsnight journalists acquired the interview with the Duke of York, during which he discussed his acquaintance with Jeffrey Epstein.
Watch the intriguing trailer here. The trailer shows Gillian Anderson's Emily preparing for the interview while Prince Andrew makes his way to Buckingham Palace. "Here's the story.
The sole story. I want it for us," a voice says, before revealing facts about the interview. "Thursday, 2pm. The Palace. Two chairs in the center of the floor, six feet apart.
The trailer's ending teases the start of the conversation, with both Prince Andrew and Emily looking closely at each other before Emily breaks the quiet with "Your Royal Highness."
The new film, which screens on April 5, provides an inside look at how the BBC got the explosive interview.
It is based on former Newsnight Editor Sam McAlister's 2021 book Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC's Most Shocking Interview, which Peter Moffat has adapted for the screen.
