Richard Branson, 73, 'very lucky' after sharing nasty injuries from horrific bike crash

Richard Branson has uploaded images of his injuries from a bad bike incident, his third in a few of years.

Despite disclosing some of his wounds, including a hematoma, the 73-year-old millionaire told admirers that he was "very lucky" not to have sustained more serious injuries.

Richard had a red helmet and had scrapes on his arm, while his friend placed gauze to his chin to keep the blood from leaking onto his white T-shirt.

"I took a big tumble while cycling in Virgin Gorda a little while ago!" I hit a pothole and tumbled hard, resulting in another hematoma on my hip and a bad cut elbow,

but luckily nothing was broken. We were cycling with Alex Wilson, who fell after me, but he was also fine.

I consider myself really fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to maintain my fitness and health. After all, the daring may not live forever, but the cautious will not live at all!"

The Virgin Group co-founder received an outpouring of solidarity, with many followers wishing him well and hoping for a rapid recovery.

Richard, a seasoned cyclist, has been involved in several bike accidents. He tore multiple ligaments when riding in the Virgin Strive Challenge at Leverick Bay in 2016, and his brakes failed during a charity ride across the British Virgin Islands in 2021, resulting in a "colossal" collision.
